Red Ribbon Week
S.A.D.D. will be kicking off RED RIBBON WEEK this Wednesday with the theme:

WHS has better things to do that drugs!

Beginning Wednesday during lunches all WHS STAFF and STUDENTS are asked to make their pledge to be drug free.  We will also ask you to write down what it is that you do instead of drugs!  All staff and student pledges will receive a red silicone wrist band to show their support from 10/22 through 10/31.

When you pledge we want to reward you with a fun alternative to drugs and you will have the option to enter your name in a raffle to win:
  • HUNTER HAYES CONCERT TICKETS (for November 1st at the Ryan Center)
  • bowling passes
  • movie passes
  • gift certificate to area restaurants and more!

We hope you take a moment to visit our table during lunches from 10/22 to 10/24.

The raffle drawings will take place 10/27 ~ 10/31 ~ winners must be wearing their bracelets all week to collect their prize.

Thanks for all your support of our amazing prevention groups!

Increasing Communication - MMS Parent Portal and School Fusion

In an effort to increase communication between educators and parents  a letter will be sent home with information on how to sign up for MMS Parent Portal and School Fusion.

MMS Parent Portal is the web-based application designed to provide parents / guardians with access to student data.  Attendance, discipline, schedules, and your student's most recent report card can be accessed.  To sign up please email sis@westerly.k12.ri.us.  Include your name, your email, and your student's name.

School Fusion is a communication tool where parents, students, and teachers can collaborate on student achievement and classroom activities.  To access school fusion call the WHS main office 401-596-2109 (and press '0').  Ask any secretary for your student's ID# and School Fusion pass code.  You can then register here to complete your registration.
WHS Early Dismissal Policy

Though not a change, WHS Early Dismissal Policy will be strictly enforced this year.  The policy states:

"Under no circumstances will students, including 18 year-olds, be dismissed from school without written request from a parent or guardian.  Requests for early dismissal must be presented to the Attendance Office Secretary in the Deans' office between 7:10 am and 7:20 am.  For reasons of personal safety and security, a parent / guardian must come to the office to sign their child out.  NO PHONE CALL DISMISSALS will be accepted without the consent of an administrator."

Calls will be made, by the attendance secretary, to verify information prior to the student's dismissal.  Please call the Deans' office with any questions.
Forms. forms, forms...

Verification and Ethnicity forms that were mailed home at the end of summer - (four pages, w/ bright orange half-sheet attached) are due to the main office Friday, September 19th.   Student Handbook forms are due ASAP.  If you are missing forms call the main office (401.596.2109) or reprint them:
